We had a joint family birthday party for Jada and Isabelle a couple of weeks ago and here are the pics. It was really fun!

Jace really enjoyed it too!=)

This was the first time that Jada got to actually eat a cupcake in over 6 months. I finally figured out how to make some that she could eat. We let her have 2 and she was in heaven. We definitely paid for that later though. lolIt was worth it to see how happy she was.
Here are the cupcakes - I used the gluten free mix I think by betty crocker and substituted coconut oil for butter and gelatin for eggs. They were actually really good! The frosting is a vegan recipe I took from Elana's Pantry which is a website I get gluten free recipes from a lot. I changed it slightly - I used GF/CF chocolate chips and melted them in a pan with coconut oil. After storing in the freezer for 15 minutes you whip it till its the consistency of frosting. It was pretty good and was easy to spread!

This inspired me to have her actual birthday party be cupcake themed since she loved them so much. We just had that party yesterday and it was great! Pics will be up soon!

The Dinosaur

While driving through the city Jace and Jada loved looking at all the sites especially the dinosaur that is outside of the Field Museum. We had planned to visit this museum until we found out that it would cost us more than $75 to do so. We only had a 3 hour window so it was not worth it. Instead we parked for a few minutes and walked to the back side of the museum and saw the dinosaur up close.
Notice he is complete with Blackhawks Jersey!! This was 2 days before they won the cup!!! woohoooo!!
Such an amazing skyline! I had forgotten how much I really miss Chi town!!
Really funny - Jada would not get too close to the dino but still talks about him to this day!! lol

Bittersweet

Here are the first couple pics from our trip. These are from breakfast with uncle Ruben at a really great little bakery on the northside of Chicago called Bittersweet! Such a cute place and amazing food. They also make beautiful custom cakes in the back and we were able to watch for a little bit.
Jace was SO excited about the selection of sweets!!
He had a chocolate croissant and as you can see it was no good!
This was my fruit plate with candied pecans!! YUMMMMMM!

Toothless

I think I freaked out more by the blood then he did!! lol
Jace has finally lost not just 1 but 2 teeth! I am so proud of him - I told him that I couldnt stomach pulling out the teeth even though they were so loose. So he knew if he didnt do it daddy would do it. I only have a pic of the first one because I was actually not home when he pulled the second one. These are his first teeth to come out!

The Armadillo

So we came home from walking Titan around the block yesterday and this is what we found in the yard. I had never seen an armadillo other than on the side of the road. It was totally unafraid or bothered by us. As you can see he let me get pretty close to him as he strolled across the front porch and finally he went to the backyard. He didnt even move fast - well he did go a little faster once he realized that Titan was watching him lol!!
